Nur-D is a Twin Cities Hip Hop artist who has been on the scene since 2018. Since then he&#39;s gone from open mics to stadium performances with his mix of pop culture, geek sheik, and a powerful emotional honesty. 

His music spans the topics of body positivity, Dungeons &amp; Dragons, Professional Wrestling,  Police Brutality and the Black struggle and everything in-between. 

In 2019 he was voted overwhelming Minnesota&#39;s Best New Artist (Citypages) and was the headlining act for First Avenue&#39;s Best New Bands of 2020. Voted Best Live Performance in 2021 and Voted Best Musician of 2022 (TC Collective). Nur-D has performed at US Bank Stadium, Soundset, Paisley Park, the Target Center and more! Performing on stages along sides acts from Misterwives to Ludacris with a style that has a little something for everyone!

Nur-D has toured in the United States and has a growing fan base all over the globe. He is without a doubt an artist to be keeping your eyes on because this is only the beginning for the leader of the Nur-D Club.

I had the great honor to work with a volunteer medical unit working the protest in the Target lot. Cool as shit under fire, and sent us all off to safety when shots were fired,  and minutes before the troops moved in. His music lifts my heart. Sharing every chance I get. Beautiful.

Saw him for the first time last night at the mn zoo. So much energy. Band was great. Real fun show

Nur-D performed for our Reach for the Stars fundraiser a couple years ago!  He was amazing and his live band with the brass had so much energy.  It was a smashing success and he helped send over 30 inner city youth from Minneapolis to Space Camp for a week!  Great Heart! and a wonderful sense of humor.  They all wore Star Trek Uniforms!!!

Bo Burnham is one of my favorite performers. Every special has hit me at a particularly powerful time in my life and I am always finding myself fixated on the music for months after.

His latest special "INSIDE" was different than anything he's done before and at the same time probably my favorite work of art he's put out so far.

Towards the end of the special he sings a song called "That Funny Feeling"
His words are beautiful and powerful.

And as I always do after I hear a beautiful song I reflected on how it spoke to my life personally...and this song poured out of me before I could get into the door of my apartment.

An arrangement of my song "Zack & Kimberly" from my newest project "CRUSH" for the Tiny Desk 2024 Submission.

I have wanted to perform at Tiny Desk for so long but never really felt like I was THERE but this year I am feeling like it's finally my time to shoot mu shot at something that could change my career and my LIFE!

"Zack & Kimberly" is a song about unrequited love. 
Sometimes there are people who aren't meant to be and that's ok. 
For so long in my personal journey that heart ache of loving someone who will never love you back, never even thinking of loving you back, would make me incredibly sad.
However as I grew older and expanded my horizons I found that the best love is the RIGHT love and sometimes, even when it's hard, two people are just never going to be. 
This journey of self discovery is what drew me to a lot of side characters in my favorite mediums, and still does to this day. 
The stories of unrequited love that never get told or are only played for comedic relief. 

I hope with "Zack & Kimberly" people will hear that it's ok to be sad about things not working out. That there is room to feel out your feelings without pointing fingers, hating anyone else, or hating yourself.
