In short, FRUNK.

Schneider draws inspiration from the &#39;70s with a modern twist. His lyrics, both playful and powerful, tackle tough subjects about alienation, addiction, and lost romance. 

Schneider has won more than 59 Austin Music Awards including Best Album, Best Songwriter, Best Musician, and Best Male Vocals making him the most decorated artist in Austin music history.  

Schneider&#39;s fan base reaches far beyond the city limits of Austin. He started gaining national recognition with his major-label debut for Universal Records, Lonelyland. A fiercely-independent artist, Schneider started his own label, Shockorama Records, which allows him the freedom to make the music his fans love, on his own terms. 

Schneider has released more than a dozen albums (with a new one on the way). He has also written over 1,000 songs, is a published author and an avid painter and collage artist. He does all this while playing over a hundred shows a year and he doesn&#39;t plan on slowing down anytime soon.

Bob Schneider is a highly unique one-man musical and artistic phenomenon. In his musical hometown of Austin, TX, he has ruled the roost for over 25 years. He has been awarded 54 Austin Music Awards (including seven-time Musician of the Year), making him the all-time leader. He is the best-selling artist at Waterloo Records, and his national profile has won him a devoted following thanks to appearances on national television, numerous albums, and a relentless commitment to touring.
Music is a Schneider family hallmark. The son of a professional opera singer, Bob began playing piano and guitar at an early age, performing at family parties and backing his father on drums at nightclubs throughout his youth in Germany and Texas. He dropped out of college where he was studying art – his other primary passion and avocation – at the University of Texas El Paso and moved to Austin to pursue his love of music.

"1995 was probably the low point of my life,” Schneider says of the time that inspired “Lake Michigan.” “It was the last year of my drinking and, even though I didn’t get into any trouble with the law, I would wake up everyday and not know where I was or what I did for most of the night before. That had gone on for the last couple years of my drinking and it was horrible. I couldn’t seem to stop myself from doing that night after night. It felt like there was no way I could go on.”
