We are the Q Brothers. We act, we rap, we write, we direct. We make music, theater, films, and tv shows. We write hip hop musical versions of Shakespeare's plays, we call them "Add-Rap-Tations". One fine day, the Q Brothers and company stepped into Cook County Jail in Chicago to perform their hip hop version of Shakespeare's Othello -- Othello: The Remix -- for 500 male and female inmates. It proved a powerful day for all involved. This here mini-doc is a window through which y'all can peep what we did "on the inside". Spread love, forgive, and keep seeing the light!

Q Brothers Lollapalooza 2014

"Q Gents" is the Q Brothers' two man version of  William Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona". It was commissioned by and developed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (also developed at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival). It makes people laugh a LOT :)

Q Brothers at ACL 2017

Every year for about 10 years now, the Q Brothers have run a workshop at Lollapalooza, teaching kids to rap, scratch, and beatbox. We call it "The One Stop Hip Hop Happy Hour Workshop". We also run this booth at Austin City Limits annually. Songs with the kids are made up and recorded on the spot, and the kids keep the track we make! At both festivals, the Q Brothers perform sets on the Kids Main Stage with Peter Distefano (of "Jane's Addiction" and "Porno for Pyros") and have shared the stage in the past with Perry Farrell, Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti, among many others. The majority of our set is freestyled on the spot using audience member suggestions. Come see us!
