Caleb Johnson’s sole mission is to spread the gospel of rock-n-roll! From his beginnings on American Idol to relentless touring with KISS, Black Stone Cherry, and Trans Siberian Orchestra, Johnson has electrified countless audiences with his thunderous voice and magnetic stage presence. 

Now hot off the heels of  his critically acclaimed 2019 album, Born From Southern Ground, Johnson is back with a new album entitled Mountain Mojo Vol. 1. Recorded in three whirlwind days at Nashville’s legendary Blackbird studios, Johnson and company pushed through a tumultuous 2020 and created what could be Caleb’s best record to date. Johnson enlisted the best of the best to back him on this new album. 

His studio band consists of Jason Bonham, Tyler Bryant, Josh Sawyer, Audley Freed, Tony Lucido, Mike Webb, Damon Johnson, Gale Mayes, Devonne Michele, and Angela Primm. The powerhouse collaboration includes some of the biggest names in rock, Nashville’s finest studio musicians, and, of course, Johnson’s thunderous voice. The combination creates a unique, soulful, southern, and hard rocking sound. 

Mountain Mojo was engineered by Grammy winner Brandon Bell (Soundgarden, Brandi Carlisle), mixed by multi-Grammy-winning engineer/mixer Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Jack White), and mastered by Grammy Winner Pete Lyman (Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers). Looking into the future Johnson hopes that his fans will love this new album as much as he does.

Coming from a 62 year old man, who has loved Rock and Soul all his years, you are the best new male Rock and Blues vocalist I have ever heard. When you&#39;ve got it...you&#39;ve got it. You are completely insane. I played drums for many bands in my life. I grew up in the the age of real music when Rock, Blues, and Soul were formed. I have an excellent ear. I can tune a guitar in about 5 minutes without a note from another instrument. So, I hope that you know that I am not complimenting your ability. I am only acknowledging what I have heard. I hope that you win American Idol. All you have to do is choose songs that fit you best, and that cross over to other styles of music. If you have to do Country, I feel that you should do a Kenny Rogers song. After all, you would make it better. A good one would be, You&#39;ve got to know when to hold them...know when to fold them...know when to walk away, and know when to run. Kill them my man!!!!

I have been in tears for almost a week and writing pages of phrases. You guys nailed the song. I can tell that you loved Mr. Cornell as much as we all did. I never thought I would care so much, but I do. He did too. Mr. Cornell was one of the best people on this spinning rock. I hope his family can find peace. Peace to all of those mourning the loss of a loved one. Please be kind to each other.

I have been a fan of Caleb Johnson since I watched the one and only Idol season I was interested in then or now. What I want to know is why is music is not playing on our radio stations. He is undoubtedly one of the best voices in rock/blues/any music . His original songs are fantastic (Down by the River, acoustic). Classic rock, blues, country rock soulful wonder!! Why, why why is this beautiful talent not shared more on our stations? My favorite ever new performer.
