Roger Troutman, best known as the leader, founder, songwriter, singer, and guitarist of early-'80s funk masters Zapp, also forged a successful solo career. Born November 29, 1951, in Hamilton, OH, he began playing guitar at age five and later formed bands with his brothers, including Roger & the Human Body, which evolved into Zapp. Zapp produced hits like "More Bounce to the Ounce" and "Computer Love."
