DECESSUS is a progressive death metal band formed in 2020 in Santiago, Chile, founded by vocalist Ignacia Fernández. Joined by guitarist Carlos Palma, drummer Martín Fénix, and bassist Jaime Pape, the band has quickly emerged as one of the most promising new acts in the Chilean metal scene.

Known for their powerful sound and intricate compositions, DECESSUS blends complex rhythmic structures with emotionally charged aggression. Following the acclaimed singles Dying Hope Blossoms and My War of Pain, the band released Traitor — the first single from their upcoming debut album — followed by The Hollow Descent, a dark and introspective second chapter of the record.

In August 2025, DECESSUS will embark on their first international tour, performing across Europe and marking a major milestone as they take their music beyond Chile for the very first time.

"The theme of the lyrics is about different experiences embodied as a constant internal and external war" says the vocalist and founder of the band, Ignacia Fernández.

DECESSUS releases the first single and videoclip "Deliverance"
Decessus is the first band led by Ignacia Fernández who is working with very talented session musicians from several countries, the 22-year-old woman assembled her group attached to the Modern-Progressive Death Metal
genre.

This first single, talks about the complex process of liberation of being in its wide spectrum, both in
collective or personal bindings as mental ones. Those in charge of giving birth to this concept were
Carlos Palma (guitar), Martin Fenixx (drums), Richi Thumb (bass), Mirko Polic in charge of the
master and Alejandro Valdenegro (recording y choir samples).
“Deliverance” audiovisual release was leaded by Underfilms and the renowned director Pepe
Garrido, who was in charge of the audio video montage.

The band logo was designed by Xenoyr, recognized vocalist of the Australian group Ne Obliviscaris,
whereas the art for this launching was created in Argentina by Villy.
The band line up will be officially announced in 2021 and will be formed with talented international
musicians, who decided to accompany Ignacia in the kick-off of this promising bet. For the time
being, you can listen “Deliverance” on all digital plataforms.

La vocalista chilena Ignacia Fernández, lanzó esta mañana la primera canción y entrega audiovisual de su banda Decessus, titulada “Deliverance”.

Decessus es el primer grupo que lidera la joven la cual hoy en día trabaja con talentosos músicos de sesión nacionales, la chica de 22 años conformó su grupo ligado al género del Modern-Progressive Death Metal.

Este primer corte, habla sobre los complejos procesos de liberación del ser en su amplio espectro, tanto de ataduras colectivas, personales o también mentales. Los encargados de dar vida a este concepto fueron Carlos Palma (guitarra), Martin Fenixx (batería), Richi Thumb (bajo), Mirko Polic encargado de la masterización, y Alejandro Valdenegro (grabación y samples coro)

La dirección y entrega audiovisual de “Deliverance” estuvieron a cargo de Underfilms y el  destacado director audiovisual  Pepe Garrido, quien se encargó del montaje de audio en vídeo.
El logo de la banda fue creado por Xenoyr, reconocido vocalista de la agrupación australiana Ne Obliviscaris, y el Arte para esta entrega fue realizado en Argentina por Villy.

La alineación oficial de la banda será anunciada en 2021 y estará compuesta por increíbles músicos internacionales, quienes han decidido acompañar a Ignacia en los inicios de esta prometedora apuesta. Por ahora, ya puedes escuchar “Deliverance” en todas las plataformas digitales.
