Elizabeth King is a Memphis-based sacred soul and gospel singer with a powerful, quaking contralto voice. She began her music career in the 1960s, leading church services and regularly performing on gospel radio. King released her debut single "Testify" in 1969 under the Designer label before signing with D-Vine Spirituals in 1970 as the frontwoman for the all-male Gospel Souls. Over the years, she recorded several singles and an album with the group, garnering critical acclaim and a Gospel Gold
