Philip Glass

Philip Glass, born in 1937 and raised in Baltimore, studied at the University of Chicago, Juilliard, and with Darius Milhaud and Nadia Boulanger, and worked closely with Ravi Shankar. Returning to New York in 1967, he formed the Philip Glass Ensemble.
