I am so touched that so many people have found likeness in this discussion about mental health. Please remember it’s important to seek professional advice. Bipolar disorder is very complex, and self diagnosis could rob you of a more specific and helpful diagnosis.

“How do I know what I’m allowed to feel?” The worse thing about bipolar is that you never know if what you’re feeling is valid or grounded in reality or is part of a tumultuous swing. Constantly questioning your emotions is exhausting. I’m so happy she’s talking about what this feels like.

I found it interesting of how she mentioned ppl love a manic woman when they&#39;re getting something out of it, but as soon as she&#39;s dealing with internal stuff the word becomes weaponized against her. Halsey makes me feel a lot I guess “safer?” about having Borderline Personality Disorder.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 17. I had suffered from suicidal depression when I was 16 and had to drop out boarding school. At that time, I didn&#39;t know that I had a mental illness, everyone (my parents, teachers and friends) blamed me for causing my depression. I was quite a high achieving and responsible student. And everyone was shocked when I had to drop school. They told me that my negative thinking and my weakness had caused my depression. After I dropped out, my parents took me traveling hoping that it would remove my suicidal thoughts and depression. It kinda worked and by next year when I rejoined a new school my depression had turned to hypomania and finally full blown mania. Hypomania was my happy, bubbly phase. But full blown mania made me go crazy and I was taken to a psychiatrist and had to take a few months off from school. After I realised what had happened to me I became suicidal again. Well long story short, I soon came to accept my bipolar diagnosis and it gave me relief to know that my condition has a name and that there are other people who lived with it. I completed school successfully and got a scholarship to a colledge abroad. Now Im almost 20 and my first year of colledge is almost over. I take bipolar medications but I still go through slight highs and lows. Sometimes when I am low I feel like I may not live past 20. But I patiently wait for this low phase to pass. I resonated with every single thing Halsey said. I have had the same fears too. I am so happy more people are talking about mental illness and destigmatizing it. I hope my story has helped someone and made them feel not alone in what they are going through. My greatest desire is to earn money by doing something I love - Youtube, dancing, singing, drawing or acting. Buy a big house with a big garden and live in the country side and get married to someone I love and who accepts my health condition and have a family and raise kids. Re-create the look, step by step:

STEP ONE: Swipe Matte Fluid Eye Paint in Dionysus directly onto the eyelid and begin building your shape. Count to twenty, and you're set. For added dimension layer Shadowstick in Baroque over Matte Fluid Eye Paint.

STEP TWO: Drip Light Lock Highlight Fluid in Flight or Flight to cheekbones, using fingers to melt product into skin. Use the excess to highlight anywhere you want the light to reflect. Layer on Light Lock Powder in Stay In Bed and Light Lock Stick in Please Indulge Me for insane beams of light.

STEP THREE: Begin by lining lips with Matte Fix Lip Pencil in Little Little. Go back in with Matte Fix Lip Pencil in Pink In The Morning to fill in cupid's bow, and the center of your lip for added dimension. Complete with Matte Fix Lip Pencil in Paper Romance.

STEP ONE: Swipe Matte Fluid Eye Paint in Cloned and buff out into the crease of eye with your favorite tool (or fingers). Add another light swipe of color under the eye and smudge below the lash line. Layer on Shadowsticks in Inferno and Chaos Theory for a sunrise inspired eyelid.
