Tess Elena is a singer songwriter born and raised in New York City.
Her pop, soulful folk sound boldly blends with her playful and raw
lyricism. Inspired and driven by her feminist roots, the United
Nations commissioned Tess Elena to write and perform an original song
(Consent is Sexy) for their Youth Assembly in 2017. Debuting her first single in 2019, she has gone on to perform at venues around NYC.  From her bedroom, she recorded &amp; released her latest single, Warning Label, which can be found on all streaming platforms.

Tess Elena - 4am (original song)

About a year ago I participated in a virtual songwriting contest with @nytoplinercamp_ where the premise was write a song from the perspective of an animated character from a movie or TV series in 48 hours.⠀

I immediately thought of the character, Helga, from the show “Hey Arnold”. It was my favorite TV show growing up. Being a city kid, it was the only show I ever saw that felt like it looked a bit like my childhood. The characters, the adventures, the incredible jazz music woven throughout, I was hooked. ⠀

My song, "Helga", is a direct influence from that show. It’s boisterous, obsessive, goofy & playful. This halloween I'm dressing up as Helga Pataki in song form. 👻🤓
