Simply put Cory Henry is a Grammy Award Winning Artist, Composer, Producer, Multi-instrumentalist, all around keyboard master, and is the future of music! In 2021, Cory’s album Something to Say was nominated at the 2022 Grammy Awards for Best Progressive R&amp;B Album and he was nominated as a producer on Eric Bellinger’s New Light. In 2022, Cory won his first Latin Grammy award for Album of the Year for his work on Rosalía&#39;s album Motomami. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Cory has been nominated for his new album Operation Funk for Best Progressive R&amp;B Album and Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album on Rosalía&#39;s album Motomami and finally in 2024 is now nominated for Best Alternative Jazz Album for Live at the Piano. Other Cory Henry collaborations include: Imagine Dragons, Smino, Lucky Daye, and many more. Cory was previously a member of Snarky Puppy, and during his time in the band he garnered three Grammy Awards with the band!

Most recently, Cory’s latest masterpieces, have garnered attention from fans all over the world as he delivered sold out shows from North America to Asia along with playing most of the major music festivals.

To all of you who say the drummer is boring, he&#39;s playing what they call a &quot;pocket groove&quot;. Pocket grooves may be the simplest of drumming techniques, but it gives everyone in the song a steady rhythm and the space to do their own thing in the song. Now imagine if the drums sounded like wild gnats buzzing with a solo, or there being no drums at all, what we&#39;d be hearing is noise. A simple, but effective beat like this brings everything together musically. In context, it&#39;s not about how good you can play, but playing according to the song&#39;s needs. I worked with Prince on his live shows for 11 years and this is the first time I have seen someone else do the man justice. and this is the first and only time that I have or will go public with that.

This should have been the Super Bowl half-time show homage to Prince. NO WORDS.

I made my father discover Snarky Puppy in 2018. He dug a little bit and got very interested in Cory Henry and discovered this cover of Purple Rain that he kept listening to months before his sudden death. So this is a special one for me too.

I love Cory’s big puppy dog eyes. You can just tell that he is absorbing and processing so much information in real-time as he listens to what’s going on around him. Also really love the descending quintuplets at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8j7XJxew7s&amp;t=382">6:22</a> right before the climactic hit of the song. They really take the energy to a different plane at the perfect moment.

To sum up -  Full orchestra, Hammond B3, Moog, KILLER vocals, and one of the best songs ever written. This was SO good it actually made me tear up.
