Stephen Fretwell’s long-awaited third album, Busy Guy, is set for release on Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground label this summer. Described by Fretwell as “a song cycle of sorts,” the album examines the seasons of a life, exploring fatherhood, grief and rebirth with his trademark eloquence and wit. The first single, ‘Oval’, is heady with sensuous images and heavenly bodies, yet carries a deep sense of unease—a clash of opposites where celebration sours to disappointment.
